These are each company's own advertised figures as of Oct 29, 2026, not quotes and not averages. Your price depends on your house.
Basement waterproofing: what drives the price
We have not found a Northeast Ohio contractor that publishes waterproofing prices, so we are not printing a number. Local companies describe these cost factors:
- Exterior vs. interior. The Ohio Basement Company notes exterior waterproofing "will likely cost more due to excavation, material cost, and replacing everything that surrounds your home like a driveway, sidewalk, deck, or landscaping," while interior water control "can be a cost-effective solution" but requires removing any finished area first (source).
- The real cause. B-Dry System Cleveland warns that some problems are simple, citing a competitor that tried to sell a full system "to a customer with a blocked downspout line" (source). Fixing gutters, downspouts and grading first can cost far less.
- Add-ons. Sump pumps, battery backups, dehumidifiers and discharge lines are often part of an interior system (Adelio's).
- Structural repair. Bowing walls or settling may need wall braces, tiebacks, carbon fiber or piers in addition to water control (B-Dry, Level Pro).
How to compare quotes
- Get at least two or three written estimates that name the method, the length of drain, the pump model and what is excluded.
- Ask whether the warranty is written and whether it transfers to the next owner.
- Ask who pulls permits. City Waterproofing, for example, says it handles necessary building permits (source).
